Job Duties:
Inspect equipment for safety prior to use, and perform necessary basic maintenance tasks. Control feller buncher equipped with tree clamps and booms to lift, swing and bunch sheared trees. Grade logs according to characteristics such as knot size and straightness, and according to established industry or company standards. A feller buncher is a type of harvester used in logging. It is a motorized vehicle with an attachment that can rapidly gather and cut a tree before felling it. Feller is a traditional name for someone who cuts down trees, and bunching is the skidding and assembly of two or more trees. A feller buncher performs both of these harvesting functions and consists of a standard heavy equipment base with a tree-grabbing device furnished with a chain-saw, circular saw or a sheara pinching device designed to cut small trees off at the base. The machine then places the cut tree on a stack suitable for transport to further processing. Must have an understanding and knowledge of tree species. Must be able to exercise proper felling techniques. Must abide by employer, landowner and OSHA regulations related to forestry industry.

Special Requirements:
Workers must maintain a level of production standard that will ensure that their other team member work is continuous during the harvest period. The level of production will vary in accordance with forest terrain; timber stands being harvested and weather conditions. Production level is not measured by volume but simply by having the ability to work with other operators as a team and keep productivity in sync among each worker and each piece of equipment. Drug screening at the expense of Prisock Brothers Logging Inc. is conducted once a job offer is accepted and prior to beginning work on the Prisock Brothers Logging Inc. job site. Drug screening is done to ensure the safety of employees, logging activities require that each worker be alert and on task to avoid injury and accidents. Must be available for the entire contract period and able to perform all job duties.
