Farm is a seasonal dairy operation. This job requires a minimum of three months of prior experience working on a dairy/cattle farm handling breeding bulls/cows/heifers and handling both manual and machine tasks. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency.
Perform any combination of the following farm duties: clean and prepare the milking equipment/barn, prepare cows for milking, milk cows, feed cows, breed cows, place bulls in breeding service, remove bulls from service, check cattle for illnesses and treat as necessary, vaccinate cattle, report problems, provide feed and milk to calves, clean housing, spread manure on pastures, repair fences and water troughs, prepare feed lanes, remove manure from feed lanes, sort and lock-up cows, dry off cows, check pastures for fresh cows and new calves, assist with calving, take fresh cows to be milked and take calves to calf barn, feed calves, clean calf barns and hutches, wean calves from milk, load and transport herd, maintain grounds.
In addition to the work outlined above, workers may be required to perform variable tasks such as the following: operation of tractors, help with equipment maintenance, work in fields, clean around barns, paint and repair farm buildings and similar tasks of a general nature common to a farming operation. Upon occasion workers may be required to dig ditches and install or repair water lines, sheds, barns, stock tanks and other structures on the farm.
Workers will load trucks with bales of hay and sacks of feed weighing from 50 to 60 pounds. Workers must be able to lift such weights to a height of 4 feet over the course of the work day.
Work is done in the field for long periods of time. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 4 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking.
Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from 10 to over 100 degrees F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations.
Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a workers ability to perform the job.
Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations.
Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles. Workers with appropriate licenses and a valid doctor's certificate may be asked to drive other workers.

Employees must not report for work, enter the employers property or perform service while under the influence of or having used alcohol, marijuana, illegal controlled substances, or any other substance that may in any way adversely affect their alertness, coordination, reaction or safety. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing is required upon reasonable suspicion of use.
Employer requires all newly hired employees to take and pass an employer-paid background check. All background checks are conducted uniformly after an initial job offer has been extended and accepted by the new hire.
