- Job Duties:
- Oct-Dec: Check pastures and cattle, water cattle, brush removal from fence, check fence, repair and build fence, repair cattle pens and barns, feed cattle hay; Dec-April: check cows, drive pasture to monitor calf health daily, calve cows and heifers, pull calves, ear tag, process cattle, work cows, calves, bulls, vaccinate, spray, dehorn, worm and brand, care for orphaned calves, administer medicine as necessary, load out hay mega rolls; Jan-April: assist with prescribed pasture burn as needed; Nov-March maintain equipment, change oil, check tires, maintain calving kits with all medicine and roping gear necessary. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath; maintaining of worksite and equipment. The nature of farm work may require workers to work after dark and possibly weekends depending on weather conditions. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather, livestock, or need. (as applicable) Employer may pay workers more depending on how many years of experience they have or other factors such as job performance, skill, punctuality.
