Job Duties:
Care of large purebred (800 head) intensively managed valuable sheep flock that lambs in a synchronized system from January through May. Care includes late gestation (gestation is the period a female animal carries an embryo) through lambing until lambs are sold. Sale of lambs from May to September. Care of pregnant ewes during the birthing process. Maintain healthy and biosecure birthing areas. Care of lambs through nursing and weaning processes. Must be experienced with synchronized breeding/lambing. Includes making silage and hay for this flock on 300 acres in the spring. Must be able to lift and carry 75lbs for 50yds.
