Job Duties:

Job requires the operation of farm equipment including equipment with GPS guidance systems, tractors with various implements, sprayers, backhoes, semi-trucks, and combines to assist in planting, irrigating, spraying, fertilizing, cultivating, harvesting, and transporting crops to storage facilities/market. Job will also require attaching implements to tractors; changing combine cutting heads; working with irrigation equipment such as pipe, pivots and well motors; maintaining ditches and drainage paths to ensure proper water levels can be maintained in fields; cleaning and maintaining shop areas; washing equipment; performing maintenance on field equipment, farm structures, and other farm equipment; mowing; weed eating; picking up limbs; working in and around grain bins/storage facility; receiving grain at grain bin and elevator facility; operating augers; transferring grain between bins; shoveling grain that cannot be removed by automatic conveyor equipment; performing housekeeping duties to ensure storage facilities are properly maintained; sweeping grain bins; leveling bins; spraying around wells; general maintenance and upkeep on all farm equipment; using hand tools for field work and equipment repair; cleaning and maintaining all farm shop areas. Daily duties may vary depending on weather and crop and field conditions. Pay increase or bonus may be possible depending on experience and merit.

Special Requirements:

Job requires having, or being able to obtain, a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Criminal background checks and drug screening may occur post-hire at the employers expense to ensure the safety of the workers. Workers must be able to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. Workers will be working outdoors during MS summer conditions. Workers will experience exposure to outdoor temperatures that may exceed over 100 degrees Fahrenheit and will experience periods of extensive sitting and walking. Basic English literacy and math skills are required.
