Job Duties:

All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, page 1 Workers are needed to plant, maintain and harvest diversified ground vegetable crops, berries including strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, as well tree fruit including apples, pears, peaches and plums. Workers must have a working knowledge of soil tillage, as well as the ability to apply fertilizers and pesticides and operate machinery. Workers will perform field work of weeding, thinning, hoeing and other duties related to the planting, maintaining and harvesting of crops. Worker will also plant and transplant crops in the fields. Workers may work in a storage building washing, culling, and preparing produce for storage and distribution. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather ranging from extremely cold and damp in the spring and fall to hot, humid summer days. Work is physically demanding requiring workers to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time. Workers must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers must be available to work Saturdays. Workers will use hand and power tools such as but not limited to: shovels, hoes, pruners, irrigation pumps and chainsaws. Workers may cut brush to keep fields open for crops. During apple harvest, production must be 7.5 EAB per hour with no more than 5% bruising. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Workers will be given a 30 minute lunch break and a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon. Beginning and ending times will vary depending on weather and crop conditions.
