Possible shift: 6:30AM-4:00PM. 48+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Chili Peppers. Duties may
include: Plant, cultivate and nurture plants. Weed, hoe, prune. Operate irrigation equipment. Move boxes manually and with forklift. Field work begins assigned time.
Field Harvester: Hoe, weed, thin, plant crops and clean fields. Using a hoe walk thru fields and cut weeds, weed crops while riding on machinery by adjusting levers to cut weeds. Thin crops by walking thru field and cutting excess plants. Plant crops by walking in field, bending down and place plant in predrilled holes in dirt. May also ride on machinery and place plants in wheel to be planted. Pick up trash in field, vehicles, equipment using hand and trash bags.
Hand pick chile peppers, use hand to pick chile peppers and place into bucket and dump into bin. Hand pick onion, pull onion from ground, use scissors to cut off tops and roots, place into buckets and dump into onion bins. Cleanup trash, sweep, mop, clean bathrooms, lugs, trailers & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Must have 1 months Harvesting exp. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hrs. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours.
Production standard: Chili Peppers: Worker has 3 days for development (practice) to be able to harvest 14 buckets of chili per hour. $1.10 earned per bucket of chilis and onions $16.00 per bin
