Workers for this job opportunity will be working in hops. There are general conditions of employment, general job specifications and individual requirements that are specific to each job duty. JOB DESCRIPTIONS: Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Repairs and maintains farm equipment, picker, and hop house as needed. Field Labor--Irrigation: Removes, installs, repairs and flushes drip irrigation lines. Field Labor--Hoeing, Planting: Weeds hop beds using a hand held hoe tool. Weeds hop beds using a hand held hoe tool. Digs hops roots and places in soil or uses a hand tool to dig hole and plant hops from pot into soil. Tractor Operator--Ground Work Spraying and Tillage: Driving a small tractor with an sprayer attached for chemical application as needed. Driving a small tractor with an implement attached to perform ground work as needed. Hop Trash Hauler--Hop Trash Spreading: Oversees the loading of hop bines and leaves into truck box and drives to field to deposit on ground. Hop Top Cutter--Harvest Top Cutter: Operates motorized equipment that pushes a truck in the hop field as it cuts the top of the strings and hop bines from the trellis. Hop Bottom Cutter--Cuts hop bines with machete. Field Pick-up--Harvest Field Pick-up: Picks up hop bines from the field and manually loads into the hop truck. Hop Truck Driver--Harvest Driver: Drives a straight truck with a 20-foot vine bed from the field where it is loaded to the hop picker to be unloaded as needed. All of the job requirements specific to the hop vine unloader/hanger job apply to the driver while performing this function of the job. This position may require some workers to have a valid Drivers License or equivalent Drivers licensure from Mexico. Hop Vine Hanger--Harvest Hanger: Unloads hop vines by hand, grabbing and pulling them up from the bed of the truck and placing the end on a hook that is overhead. Hop Feeder (Crows Nest)--Harvest Feeder: Feeds hooks with hop bines into picker. Picker Operator--Harvest Picker: Operates hop picking machine and ensure proper maintenance and operation to obtain quality removal of hop cones from bines Kiln Operator/Assistant: Oversees the loading of hop cones onto the drying floors. Monitors the moisture levels of hop cones and assists in unloading of hop cones from the drying floor. Hop Baler: Operates the hydraulic baler. Sews the polypropylene bale covering by hand to enclose the 200-pound bale. Tests for moisture content and moves the bale to the staging area with a hand truck. Hop Pusher (Forklift)--Harvest Cooling/Baler: Operates forklift that is equipped with front blade that pushes hop cones into conveyor. Along with the job duties above, some workers may operate small van/bus to transport co-workers from housing to field or into town. This position may require some workers to have a valid Drivers License or equivalent Drivers licensure from Mexico. Other Duties as Assigned: All other duties assigned under this order will be those duties of Farm Worker, Diversified Crops, under the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics Standard Occupational Classification Code 45-2092. The Employer attests that all workers will be properly trained in the Worker Protections Standard (WPS) by qualified WPS trainers who have completed an EPA-approved Train-the-Trainer course pursuant to the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

4b) Worker must have at least one month hop harvest experience. 4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 50lbs. Limit weight lifted to no more than 50 pounds. When lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load. 4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. 4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools. 4i) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time 4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as loading, unloading, baling, picking, removing debris, etc. 4k) There will be repetitive overhead movements while performing most of the farm labor duties
