Job Duties:
Worker will drive 10-wheel, straight-frame field truck or tractor/trailer combination with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 30,000 pounds or more to/from specified destinations within area of intended employment; maneuver trucks into and out of loading and unloading positions. Worker will perform duties in both on-road (paved) and off-road conditions. Worker must possess the ability to successfully operate in rough and adverse off-road conditions. Worker must possess the ability to read a map, understand directions, use GPS and successfully navigate to a specific location; regularly climb up and down, on, into and out of truck; complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection and paperwork on trucks; perform all preventative maintenance duties to assigned fleet vehicle, as well as assist with reactive maintenance on assigned fleet vehicle. Operator is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly surface and deep cleanings of assigned fleet vehicle, including exterior, chassis, engine area and cargo carrying box. Worker is responsible for scaling in/weighing modules after returning to gin from field and keeping a record of module numbers and weights. Worker is responsible for dropping module at correct location on module yard. Worker may be required to load modules directly from the truck or module yard onto module feeder. Worker will be required to handle both conventional and round bale modules. Service /repairs includes but is not limited to: lubricating grease points; inspecting and maintaining fluid levels, tire air pressures, belt and converyer chain tensions, radiator and filter functrion; and braker performance; removing and replacing belts, wear parts, filters, lights and lenses, and chain or chain links, and making in field repairs. Workers should be able to work both in and out of their truck for long periods of time. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accomodations. Temperatures may range from 10 to 100 F. Workers may be required to work during occasional rain showers not severe enough to stop operations. Workers will report to work at the desingnated time and place as directed by the supervisor each day. The standard work day is 8-10 hours per day. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Persons seeking employment as a module driver must be available the entire period requested by the employer and possess 3 months of verifiable prior experience driving/servicing 10-wheel, straight-frame field trucks and/or tractor/trailer combinations with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 30,000 pounds or more. Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. This job requires a valid commerical drivers license issued by a US state or foreign equivalent. Drivers must be at least 21 years of age and must obtain a DOT medical examiner's certificate before commencing work.
