Job Duties:

Harvest citrus. Following the supervisors instructions, the worker will place a picking sack over their shoulder and carry an 18 to 22' ladder from the field truck to the particular area of the grove to be harvested. The picking sack is a canvas bag equipped with a shoulder strap for support. Worker positions ladder against the tree and within reach of the fruit in a leaning position, taking care not to break limbs, damage the tree, knock off fruit, or interfere with other workers, in a secure position to prevent slipping or falling and possible injury to themselves or other workers. Worker will remove fruit from the tree and place into pick sack. When pick sack is full take to fruit tub located in the grove and drop fruit pick sack into tub. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather. Must be able to work long hours in direct sunlight, where weather conditions may be hot and humid, rain is possible and worker will be exposed to pollen the entire day while performing he job duties. The majority of the workday is spent on ones feet and outdoors. Hours and days of work may vary due to weather conditions. Must be able to lift 80-100lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and able to lift and carry 80-100lbs. in field. Workers may be required to submit to random drug tests at the discretion of the employer. Drug testing and background checks may be performed during the interview process. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic device during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. All physical requirements will take place in an outdoor environment exposed to the elements for extended periods of time.

Special Requirements:

TRAINING: Employees will receive training on how to correctly harvest fruit for the first 14 days. If the employee is unable or unfit to perform the duties listed after the 14-day trial period, the employee will receive warnings. Hours may be reduced to the minimum allowed, or employee may be terminated. After the initial trial period, employee will be expected to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
