- Harvesting of vegetables: Once at the harvesting location, doing a row at a time, workers will move down the row plucking the vegetables from the plants and packing them into a container. Once the container is full, worker take container to the truck/ or dump at truck. The worker will go back to his picking area and fill his container up again, repeating this process through the workday.
Harvesting Blueberries: by hand, the worker will walk down the blue berry field row plucking fruit from the tree and placing it in the container, making sure not to damage fruit, or break/ damage the tree and not knocking down unripe fruit. When the container is full the worker will take container to the truck at the end of the row. The worker will go back to his picking area and fill his container up again, repeating this process through the workday.
Harvesting strawberries: by hand the worker will walk down the strawberry field row plucking and packing the strawberries into a container, making sure not to damage the fruit while plucking/or packing or damage the plant. When the container is full worker will take container and deliver it to the truck that's at the end of the row. The worker will go back to his picking area and fill his container up again, repeating this process through the workday.
Field Maintenance: workers will tie, stake, prune plants, clean micro jets, remove plastic, remove plastic drip lines, using hands or a hoe workers will remove dead plants and weeds. The worker in order to perform this kind of work must be able to work outside for at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite physical strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands repeatedly. The employer will provide the tools necessary (if applicable) to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable cost related to the worker refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due such workers willful damage or destruction of the tools.
Workers that qualify may be required to drive Agriculture Machinery or Equipment such as tractors, forklifts, buses and trucks.
Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when worker is available. Workers should expect occasional periods of little to no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer's control. These periods may occur any time during the season, if the workers request leave of absence during these periods of no work, the hours will be deducted from the hours offered under the ETA790A.
A copy of the work contract or a copy of the ETA 790 in lieu of a work contract, and any modifications, will be provided to the H-2a workers no later than the time at which the worker applies for the Visa , or to a worker in corresponding employment, no later than on the day work commences. For an H2A worker going from an H2A employer to a subsequent H2A employer, a copy of the contract will be provided no later than the time an offer of employment is made by the subsequent H2A employer.
