- Job Duties:
- Operate soil mixing equipment and prepare and plant unrooted cuttings and plugs for spring annuals, spring perennials, and spring vegetable plants; Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, backhoes, and bobtail trucks to pull customer orders from the greenhouse and transport from one location to another; Organize and pull, tag, and pack spring annuals, perennials, and vegetable plants to fill orders; Perform daily repairs, cleaning, and maintenance to equipment, grounds, buildings, watering systems; Drive pickup to obtain parts and supplies. Clean all greenhouses and repair all the greenhouses' maintenance issues when they are emptied to be closed down for summer. Typical workday includes a 1-hour lunch break. May have to work nights, possibly weekends. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on Sabbath; Three (3) months experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain drivers license within 30 days of hire. May be required to take drug test after hire at no cost to worker. Positive test or refusal to take is grounds for immediate termination.
