Job Duties:

Assisting with regular hog barn maintenance and upkeep, repairing pens, gates, feeders, waterers, equipment, fences; weed trimming, lawn mowing, & driveway maintenance at worksites; herd health & care, spot treating as necessary, administering euthanasia and keeping herd fed & watered regularly; keep pens clean and sanitized by power washing, remove & compost dead loss; weaning baby pigs; maintaining biosecurity protocols & medication & visitor logs; sorting, counting, & vaccinations of pigs; maintain water quality & supply to herd; completing repairs & regular maintenance to trucks, farm equipment, & farm machinery; regular hauling & transportation of livestock, grain, feed, seed, fertilizer, manure, and various equipment; occasional, overnight off-site delivery of commodities or livestock possible; employer will pay travel time, meals, lodging to and from listed worksite to drop off location; driving farm & fleet vehicles; maintaining vehicle inspection forms of any vehicles operated to ensure timely maintenance of equipment & vehicles.
