- Job Duties:
- Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies; Herd livestock to scales, trucks, or other enclosures; Monitor animals for illness, injury, or disease; Drive feed truck or other equipment for moving feed/grain, pushing and handling manure; Winterize facilities; Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade using brands, tags; Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, or physical condition; Perform duties related to calving, weaning, vaccinating, castrating, treating; Sort cattle to be shipped to feeder; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest primarily organic crops such as corn, hay, soybeans; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
