Job Duties:

Shuttle driver will pick up workers, take them to worksite, field walk, and drive workers back to their housing. They will also assist with simple daily vehicle maintenance checks, timekeeping, fill water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, and ensure field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day. They are required to live in the housing provided by the employer and take workers once a week to the bank and food store. Duties may also include moving and spacing container plants of various sizes, setting down container plants of various sizes, weeding, herbicide application, consolidating container plants of various sizes, cleaning plant rows and bed, laying down ground cover, pruning plants, planting plants wither at a work station or on potting machines, cutting bamboo and staking plant material, loading and unloading of plant material for customers, taking cuttings of various plant material, filling cell trays for propagation, and any other general farm related activities that one would expect to occur on a working farm. This job will be done under extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis.

Special Requirements:

Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work. The employer is a drug-free workplace and has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and in the employer-provided housing. Random drug testing will be conducted post-hire at employer's expense. Drug testing may be done post-accident and for cases with valid reasons for suspicion.
