Job Duties:

We operate a corn and soybean farm and need seasonal workers from March to December. As this is time we plant, spray and harvest. We also take 700 head of cattle to pasture in May. So we have to get the livestock ready for pasture. Care for them on pasture and then sell them in September. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, irrigation equipment, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals, examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain, clean equipment or facilities. Clean and lubricate parts, install and repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. Complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
