Job Duties:
Drive, tow, tend, attach, and operate farm machinery to till the soil, plant, cultivate, and spray, spread, harvest, and move agricultural products and agricultural commodities. Manipulate controls to set, activate, record, and adjust farm machinery used in agricultural production (some equipment is equipped with GPS technology). Mix specified agricultural material and dump solutions, powders, and seeds into seed tender, planter, or spray machinery safely and properly. Drive farm vehicles to haul crops, supplies, tools, fuel/def., or farm workers. Work in a packing house facility to load, unload, and move potatoes that are 100% grown by the employer. Load and unload crops or agricultural products using augers, forklifts, a loader, backhoe, hand trucks, conveyors, or manually when necessary. Operate and maintain the grain dryer and grain tanks. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Operate, check, and maintain center pivot irrigations to irrigate soil and farm vehicles as needed. Workers are asked to maintain a clean working area and clean farm equipment using a pressure washer when needed. Other assigned seasonal farm tasks and ground maintenance. Special Requirements:
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
