Job Duties:

Pruning grape vines-cutting off excess vine growth of dormant vines Tying grape vines-fixing vines to wires using twistems and string Suckering grape vines- removing excess vine growth at base of plant Shoot positioning- organizing new vine growth ( up and down )on grape vine Planting grape vines- placing vine in a vineyard at a given spot Fruit removal- remove unripe fruit from vine by hand or shears Spot spraying - spraying weeds with herbicide Post pounding- placing post in a given spot to be pounded in by a machine Wire placement- putting wire in vineyard and stapling wire to post with a staple Stone picking- removing stone from vineyard using hands and backhoe Tractor work- driving tractor with an attachment (mower , spot sprayer)
