- Job Duties:
- Workers will set up and oversee irrigation systems, prepare land for the cultivation of hay, plant crops, and manage weeding and crop upkeep during the growth phase. They will assist in all facets of crop harvesting and aid in farm upkeep, which includes cleaning and maintaining structures, controlling weeds, brush and repairing fences. Workers will maintain water lines and troughs. Workers will also engage in various tasks related to livestock management on the open range, such as providing feed and water, directing animals to pastures for grazing, and checking them for any signs of illness or injury. Workers will load and unload cattle from trailers and move cattle into various pens Additionally, they will assist with the vaccination process by herding animals into corrals or stalls and manually restraining them when necessary. "Occasionally workers may need to work a night shift." Other duties involve applying medication to wounds, spraying livestock with insecticides, helping with castration, and marking animals with identification notches or brands.
