Workers will perform all tasks traditionally included in the operation of diversified agricultural farms. We grow a variety of crops. Workers will work in the fields and in the pack area, on the farm. Field work includes: manually plant, cultivate, and harvest listed field crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Some duties include tilling soil and transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops. Weeding and thinning done by hands, hoes, and tractor implements. Assist with irrigation including the laying out irrigation lines. Assist with trellising and pruning. Assist with field preparation and clean up. Operate tractors and implements. Implements include, but are not limited to seeders, transplanters, plastic mulch layer and lifter, drip tape layer, cultivating equipment, rototiller, mower. Washing and packing duties sorting/grading, washing, bunching, and packing of produce. Workers will also assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the packing area. Additional duties include operating farm vehicles, i.e. small pick-up trucks and tractors, on and off the farm, cleaning and maintaining farm equipment and vehicles, and loading and unloading trucks. Through use of basic power tools like drills and saws, along with hand tools like hammers and screwdrivers, workers will assist with maintenance of existing structures and the repairing of fencing. Workers will also assist with moving, loading, and unloading various materials, tools, and commodities around the farm as needed including hay bales, harvested/packed commodities, soil/mulch, shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives, and any debris/detritus created incidental to Employer's farming operations.
Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR § 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.
