Job Duties:

Workers will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the vineyards. Duties include but are not limited to tilling soil, planting, weeding, pruning, thinning crops, moving catch wires, hedging, installation and removal of bird/animal deterrents such as netting, applying mulch/compost, leaf removal, cleaning and clearing hedgerows, burning of pruning cuttings, picking rocks from fields. Operation of power equipment my be required such as chainsaws. trimmers, hedgers, power washers, operation of tractors, ATV's, and tractor pulled equipment. Picking, sorting, loading harvested product, construction and maintenance of trellises, fences, machinery, equipment, buildings, landscaping, drainage systems and ditches. Use of hand tools including but not limited to shovels, hoes, shears, clippers, lopers, saws, hammers, and wire strainers. work is done in the fields for long periods requiring repetitive movement and extensive walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling. Workers are expected to work at least the specified hours and days. Depending on weather, crop, or other conditions workers may be requested, but are not required to work up to 12 hours per day. Employer will furnish workers, without cost, all tools and equipment required to perform all duties assigned. Worker should report with their own suitable work clothing and footwear. Field temps may range from 0 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Work is required in the fields when plants are wet with dew, rain, sleet, snow, winds, direct sun, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Please note that the work described above will be the same at each entity: Red Tail Ridge Inc of Penn Yan and Heart & Hands of Union Springs both in the state of New York.
