Job Duties:

The crops grown at Gary Heard Farms are planted in early spring and harvested starting in late summer, continuing into late fall, creating a seasonal employee need. Peanuts and cotton will harvest simultaneously, resulting in our operation needing seasonal help. After harvest is over, typically the end of November, our operations need for seasonal employees decline as the workload decreases until planting season. Job duties will include: operate tractors, planters, sprayers, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
