- Job Duties:
- Job duties include but are not limited to: Row crop farming: Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc and drill to a tractor. Till the soil, rock picking, plant and cultivate grain. Assist with irrigation of crops and drain excess water from crops. Operate heavy farming equipment like tractors, spray rig and track hoe. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive semi-trucks to transport crops to elevator and storage area. Storage areas are located on the farm, but also outside farm boundaries. Workers drive a distance of 5 - 25 miles to the storage areas. General maintenance of equipment. Manual labor: Pick up and carry sacks of grain, load and unload trucks. Crops: rice, wheat, corn, soybeans and milo.
