Job Duties:
• Load and unload crops or containers of materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, hand trucks, transfer augers, or similar equipment. • Mix and load fertilizers, chemicals, seeds, or crop inputs into planters or sprayers. • Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, weeds, fungus, and plant diseases using hand sprayers or mechanical sprayers. • Observe and listen to equipment to detect malfunctions and report issues to supervisors. • Manipulate controls to set, adjust, and operate agricultural machinery. • Operate tractors, combines, swathers, hay equipment, and irrigation equipment used in crop production. • Adjust, repair, service, and maintain farm machinery and equipment as needed. • Attach implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, harvesters, and grain carts using bolts, tools, and proper safety procedures. • Load hoppers and conveyors using augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks. • Operate towed equipment such as seed drills, manure spreaders, and fertilizer applicators. • Weigh crop-filled containers and record weights and crop information. • Drive farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, equipment, and workers. • Irrigate fields using portable pipes or ditch systems; maintain irrigation pumps, ditches, and pipe systems. • Drive and operate machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest, and store crops including grain,soybeans, silage, alfalfa, prairie hay, and corn. • Till soil, plant seed, and conduct crop cultivation and weed control. • Operate self-propelled combines and tow harvesting equipment. • Record crop information including yields, pesticide use, and other production data. • Maintain farm buildings, fences, structures, farmyards, and surrounding grounds. • Perform general farm labor including spraying, weeding, watering, pruning, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas. Special Requirements:
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles.
