Job Duties:

Our normal seasonal need will be Feb 1 - Nov 15 yearly. General worker needed for corn, crawfish, deer, hay, pasture, rice, rye grass and soybean farm. Work includes field prep, water maint, fertilize, plant, maintain and harvest of crops, prepare winter pastures. Field prep includes operate farm equipment, maintain headlands and grounds, manual shovel work and hoeing of weeds, spot spray, cut, fluff, harvest, and bail hay, load and unload, and gen farm labor. Pickup/deliver crops as required to bins, coolers, dryers, or market. Help repair and maintain barn, buildings, corrals, equip. (also change oil, filters and gas), farm, fences, fields, gates, grounds, hay, levees, mow/weed eat, nursery, pastures, ponds, properties, roads, sheds, shop, stalls along with water maintenance and troughs. Spray with approved insecticides, weed control, predator control and check/maintain of livestock. May operate motorized crawfish boat and/or walk/push boat. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up of fish bait, set traps, bait and check traps. Grade, wash, sack and ice crawfish for shipment, make and repair traps as needed. Assist with deer maintenance and upkeep, antler removal, bottle feeding fawns, breeding, clean stalls, count heads, ear tagging, feed/water, handling, haying, herding, maintenance, seasonal fawning, semen collection, sorting, stable attendant, and vaccinating, We are licensed by LA Dept of Ag and a certified CWD breeder. Worker must be able to lift/carry 80 lbs. M-F, some Sat/Sun, work in excess of 40 hours may vary. Employees may be compensated above the stated hourly wage, this decision to pay above the prevailing hourly wage will be made by the employer, basing this decision on factors that include the individual recipient's performance and work history. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray and related chemicals and pesticides, etc. may affect workers’ ability to perform the job. Employer may require post hire, random, upon suspicion or post accident drug testing, all at no cost to employee. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Job includes stooping, lifting and working outside in inclement weather. Must have 3 mo exp in similar position.
