Job Duties:
Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds GVW. CDL required • Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order • Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, performing minor repairs, or washing trucks • Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes • Drive trucks with capacity greater than 13 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products, livestock, or other materials • Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes • Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage • Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers • Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, tire chains, or spark plugs • Remove debris from loaded trailers • Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers • Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions • Wrap and secure goods using pads, packing paper, containers, or straps • Operate idle reduction systems or auxiliary power systems to generate power from alternative sources, such as fuel cells, to reduce idling time, to heat or cool truck cabins, or to provide power for other equipment • Give directions to laborers who are packing goods and moving them onto trailers Workers are subject to pre-hired and random drug testing at employers expense. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in not being hired, and immediate termination if you are already employed. Workers are required to complete all safety checks prior to operating the semi’s and are required to follow all safety rules as outline by the employer and rules of the road. Any worker caught driving and/or acting reckless will be terminated immediately. Your truck is your responsibility. You are to ensure any issues are reported and is taken for repairs. You must and will follow all safety policies and regulations. You are NOT TO EVER operate a semi not properly functioning. Workers are to never have unauthorized passengers in the truck. Additional Job Duties: Daily individual work assignments, crew assignments, and location of work, will be made by and at the sole discretion of the farm manger and/or farm supervisor as the needs of the farming operation dictate. Workers may be assigned a variety of duties in any given day and/or different tasks on different days. Workers will be expected to perform any of the listed duties and work on any crop as assigned by the worker's supervisor.

Special Requirements:
All applicants must have at least 12 months / 1 year experience driving with a CDL license. Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers operating comparable operations establishing acceptable previous experience. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
