Job Duties:

Job duties include operating farm machinery to cultivate, plant, harvest, and store grain crops such as wheat, durum, canola, soybeans, sunflowers, and corn. Workers will drive farm trucks and equipment to transport crops and supplies within the farm and to market as needed; no CDL- required driving is involved. Duties also include manual labor to move grain from bins, perform mechanical work, welding, basic construction, and repair and maintenance of equipment and farm facilities. Workers may assist in building and repairing fences and farm structures. The position requires a strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours during the short growing season from March through November, depending on weather. Workers must be able to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying conditions. Employment is at-will; however, the employer typically follows an escalatory disciplinary process that includes a written warning followed by a termination notice for continued issues. This process does not alter the at-will nature of the job. Workers are expected to follow instructions and complete duties efficiently and safely. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
