Job Description

Full Time:
Yes
Number of Workers Requested:
3
Job Duties:
605 Meats livestock provide natural fertilizers in the form of manure, which can enrich the soil for crop cultivation. Crop residues, such as straw or corn stalks, can be fed to animals as fodder, reducing feed costs. 605 Meats uses chickens to help control pests by foraging for insects and larvae in the fields, reducing the need for chemical pesticides. Livestock grazing helps 605 meats to pastureland and control weeds, promoting healthier pastures for grazing and crop production. Tasks completed by the beneficiaries when maintaining the livestock include crop bailing and hay bucking to feed the animals. The beneficiaries maintain records on animals, examine animals to detect diseases and injuries, assist in birth deliveries, and administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate per government regulations. The farm with a processing facility operates as an integrated facility where livestock are raised and then processed for meat production, which is only incidental to the farming operations. 605 Meats farm operations begin with raising livestock such as cattle, pigs, sheep, or poultry. These animals are bred and raised for meat production, and the farm staff takes care of the animals' well-being, ensuring they have proper nutrition, shelter, and medical care to keep them healthy and facilitate their growth. When the animals reach the desired weight or age for processing, they are transported to the processing facility on the farm premises. The animals are humanely slaughtered at the processing facility, following regulations and guidelines to minimize stress and ensure ethical treatment. These duties include attending to animals produced for animal products, such as meat, skins, and eggs. Duties include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, castrating, branding, de-beaking, weighing, catching, processing, and loading animals on the farm for the farmer. Workers prepare the soil for planting during crop farming by tilling, fertilizing, and applying soil amendments as needed. They then sow seeds or transplant seedlings using specialized equipment. Once the soil is prepared and seeds planted, workers begin to monitor the growth of their crops throughout the growing season, ensuring that plants receive adequate water, nutrients, and sunlight. They implement irrigation systems to supplement rainfall, apply fertilizers and pesticides to promote healthy growth and manage weeds and pests that can threaten crop yields. Workers use specialized machinery such as combines, tractors, and harvesters at harvest time to gather and process the crops efficiently. They carefully time the harvest to ensure optimal yield and quality, considering crop maturity and weather conditions. After harvesting, crop farmers may store, package, or transport the crops to the drying.
