Job Duties:
We have a need for seasonal workers starting on March 1 through November 30 to complete the necessary job duties related to the production of wheat, peas, barley and oats and hay. Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operator such as: Load and unload crops or containers of materials. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools. Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products. Position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and closing full containers. Most duties are performed out of doors, and entail exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust, rain and other environmental conditions common in fields. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. 3 months of experience is required. Driving is required. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges). Worker must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision. The job entails working with machinery, outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, wind and cold) and occasional exposure to herding hazards such as poisonous snakes and predators. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Drivers' License is required. Increase pay and bonus may be possible depending on experience.
