Job Duties:

Assist in all aspects of pre plant preparation & field work, planting, spraying cultivating, and harvesting field crops such as cotton, corn, hay, wheat, peanuts, ryegrass, oats. Help maintain the quality of crops by operating machinery and doing physical labor under the supervision of a farm owner or manager. Build agricultural structures. Employees will assist in cleaning up land for row crop production, manually removing small sticks and rocks from the field. Machinery to be operated includes, but is not limited to, tractors (both with & without front end loader), combines, cotton pickers, hay balers, hay rakes, hay cutters, grain carts, planters, rippers, cultivators, sprayers, peanut harvester, tedders, disc, bulldozers, excavators, front end loaders, fork lifts, telehandlers, trailers, bush hawgs, spreader buggy, spreader truck. Hand tools will be used for manual procedures when required; hand tools include but are not limited to, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, bungee cords, air pressure gauges and pumps, grease guns, hydraulic, air, and manual jacks, heavy duty chains, ratchet hauling straps, knives, machete, chainsaw, files, and air wrenches. Drive and control farm equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. Perform task such as cutting, raking, and baling. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Lift and move heavy parts and tools, handle greasy and dirty equipment, and stand or lie in uncomfortable positions. Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Transport vehicles, equipment, and crop products among fields or to other destinations, as required. Ensure that field trucks are fully equipped and supplied. Load and unload grain bins and perform general maintenance (grease bearings, replace augers, sweep floors, etc.). Workers will be expected to maintain the grounds by mowing the grass and keeping the grounds clean. Be able to speak English. Be prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the environment. Work is performed in extreme heat, cold, humidity, dust, sun, rain, soil, dust and other natural elements. Removing invasive weeds and sticks from fields. Communicate and follow instructions from supervisor. Driving farm vehicle. Minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite; speak and understand English.

Special Requirements:

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
