- Job Duties:
- On the farm, workers will complete farm duties such as cleaning, ongoing maintenance, and washing equipment to assist in the farm upkeep. Additionally, the workers will help with field operations on the farm. Plant, cultivate, and harvest corn and soybeans. Workers will operate tools and machinery such as tractors, trucks, forklifts, and skid steers to assist in applying manure and ground tillage before planting and after harvesting corn and soybeans, and will perform general upkeep of crops and plants. Workers will repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. After harvest, workers will install drainage tiles in the fields and clean up surface waterways. Workers will assist in the general maintenance, cleaning, and repair of grain bins in preparation for the harvesting season. Workers will work in the fields to help control weeds and maintain road ditches, as well as perform basic maintenance of farm equipment and tools. In addition, workers will assist with livestock-related duties in the hog barn, including power washing facilities, handling and moving animals, castrating hogs, administering vaccinations, assisting with artificial insemination of sows, and performing general maintenance in the buildings. Workers may also perform maintenance welding as needed.
