Job Duties:
Leafy Greens (Collard Greens, Cabbage Mustard Greens, Turnip Greens, Kale Greens, Red Chard, Green Dandelion, etc) Herbs (cilantro, and parsley) Green Onions, Spinach, Leeks, Beets, Broccoli leaves, Cauliflower leaves, Corn, Squash, Red Chard and Dandelion. Sanitation Requirements: For food and general personal safety purposes, all workers will be required and expected to follow common sanitary practices at all times. This is particularly critical when hand harvesting crops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse their hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using the bathroom and before entering the fields for harvest activities. Workers will perform planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packing duties for vegetable crops including but not limited to: collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, kale, cabbage, herbs (cilantro, parsley), green onions, leeks, beets, leaves, , corn, dandelion, chard, spinach, and squash. Field Work & Crop Maintenance- • Plant, transplant, scout, irrigate, thin, weed, hoe, and cultivate crops by hand and using equipment. • Set up, operate, and maintain irrigation systems; repair ditches, pipes, and pumps. • Perform field maintenance including mowing, bush hogging, trimming, and debris removal. • Take inventories of seed and chemicals, perform internal audits, clean/organize on farm storage, tractors and equipment. Harvesting & Packing- • Harvest crops by hand or with knives according to maturity, size, color, and quality standards. • Bundle, trim, or pack loose product into containers; secure with ties or bands; make and close boxes; label, tag, and load onto trailers. • Grade, sort, and inspect produce for quality; remove culls and substandard product. • Work on or around packing machines to fill, level, or stack containers. • Record counts, weights, and packing data; ensure accurate labeling and box marking. Packinghouse Duties - • Grade, sort, and pack vegetables. • Build and repair boxes/pallets; load and unload produce. • Stack boxes onto pallets and move produce into cold storage or refrigerated trucks. • Operate forklifts, hand tools, and machines associated with preparing products for packaging. • Mark and label containers, tags, or products using marking tools. • Generate packaging tags, inventory tags, and shipping documents on computer. Equipment Operation & Driving- • Operate tractors, forklifts, vans, trucks, and self-propelled or tractor-drawn farm machinery to prepare soil, plant, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops. • Attach and operate implements; load conveyors, sprayers, and planters; mix and apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. • Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. • Properly licensed/insurable workers may transport workers, pickup parts and supplies in employer vehicles.

Special Requirements:
All workers should have at least 2 months experience hand harvesting produce. Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
