Job Duties:

Duties may include: Care for established lawns by mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, aerating, weeding, watering, removing thatch, litter, leaves and debris. Prune or trim foliage (at ground level), plants, shrubs and trees. Place landscape material, such as flowers, shrubs, trees, bushes. Under direct supervision place/set rock gardens, drainage systems, sprinkler systems, mortarless segmental concrete wall blocks, fences, or planters. Spread landscape material such as mulch, rock and topsoil. Water lawns, plants and trees using portable sprinkler systems, hoses or watering cans. Maintain sprinkler systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring. Employees will use shovels to dig trenches, approximately 12” deep x 12” wide to accommodate plants and root bulbs being planted in flower beds. Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruners, shears, and wheelbarrows. Clean worksite to ensure safety. On the job training & other related Landscape Laborer activities as per SOC/OES 37-3011 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. Offering 35+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Some Saturdays required, hours and workdays may vary depending on weather. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).

Special Requirements:

Must be 18 due to equipment use. Must show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities: such as lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 50lbs. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Work is performed outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime and/or overtime. At the sole discretion of the employer, workers may be required to submit to a post hire drug test, paid by the employer. Positive results or refusal to take the test may result in immediate termination. Any worker found to have a criminal conviction, DWI, commits serious acts of misconduct, refuses to follow instructions, violates work rules, fails to perform job duties in a competent manner, or other lawful job-related reasons will be subject to termination. Workers who have a clean driving record and insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles.
