Job Duties:

Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, trimming, planting, watering, digging, spreading mulch and topsoil, raking, repairing fences, on-site installation/maintenance of trees, shrubs, and plants, leaf removal, installing mortarless segmental masonry units, assisting with installation and maintenance of irrigation systems, debris cleanup as part of installation or service process. Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment when not in use. Workers with valid U.S. driver’s licenses may operate company vehicles, but driving is not a requirement of all workers in the position. Must exercise independent judgment; may be asked to demonstrate tasks to other employees but position does not include supervision of other workers. Must be able to understand basic instructions in English.

Special Requirements:

Requires three months of previous landscape experience. Must lift/carry 70 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours. The Employer will provide sick leave to employees. The employee will accrue paid sick leave at a minimum rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. Employees are entitled to use accrued paid sick leave beginning on the 90th calendar day after the start of their employment, and sick leave will be paid at the employees normal hourly rate. Unused paid sick leave of 40 hours or less will be carried over to the following year for those workers returning to employment with the employer. The employer will deduct a portion of workers compensation premium from workers pay as specified in Washington law at RCW 51.61.140. The employer will withhold from the employees wages the maximum amount for the portion of employee premium required under WA State RCW 50A.04, Paid Family and Medical Leave Program.
