Job Duties:

Workers may perform any combination of the following described duties concerned with the general care of agriculture. Specific instructions and close supervision of several tasks will be provided by the farm owner and/or supervisors designated by the farm owner. Work performed will be monitored and reviewed for quality. This is an agricultural job on a large commercial farm involved in fruit production and other crops. Numerous safety hazards exist including tractors, farming implements, machinery and other equipment and vehicles, as well as saws and other power tools. Workers may be required to climb ladders while operating tools and/or harvesting fruit. Workers are required to have agricultural experience in order to successfully perform tasks described below while also avoiding numerous safety hazards associated with operating and/or working alongside various equipment, vehicles and power tools. Workers will perform any combination of the following duties and may perform supervisor activities with the general care of agriculture duties that include: 1. Winter Pruning of Trees a. Pruning of trees may be done from the ground, from a ladder up to 12 feet in height, or from a motorized platform. Work may be performed in snow or on frozen ground. 2. Thinning of Trees a. Thinning of fruit from trees may be done from the ground, from a ladder up to 12 feet in height, or from a motorized platform. 3. Training of trees by tying/trellis or using wooden spacers or props a. Training of trees may be done from the ground, from a ladder up to 12 feet in height, or from a motorized platform. 4. Applying and removing tree paint, fertilizer, sheets and/or rolls of sheets of reflective foils and like materials onto the ground between rows of trees and/or around trees. 5. Assist in removing garbage or other debris from orchards to keep a safe and sanitary work environment. 6. Planting, digging, bundling, painting, irrigating and spraying trees. 7. Tree Grafting. 8. Removal of Weeds by pulling/mowing. 9. The use of hand tools such as pruning saws, loppers, shears, shovels, hoes, clippers, and/or picking bags or containers. 10. Worker must exercise care at all times to prevent breaking of branches and limbs. See Addendum C

B.2) Three months tree fruit experience B.4e) Must be able to lift and/or load 60lbs. B.4g) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. B.4h) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheelbarrows, fruit containers, etc. B.4i) May require the worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while sorting, picking, examining, weeding, transporting, pruning, etc. B.4j) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as weeding, irrigating, pruning, picking, removing debris, etc. B.4k) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example picking, sorting, pruning, shoveling, weeding, etc.
