Job Duties:
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. In order to perform this kind of work each worker must be able to work outside for at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather. And be in possession of the requisite strength and endurance, to work quickly and skillfully with their hands. The employer will provide the tools necessary (if applicable) to perform the job described without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the workers refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such workers willful damage or destruction of the tools. Green Corn Dump - Daily activities include unloading of ear corn trucks, taking barrel and moisture samples, documentation of received loads, cleaning out trucks, kernel cleaning dump equipment, and housekeeping and other duties as assigned. There are dump areas, Lines 1 & 2 are together, Lines 3 & 4 are together, and are less than 100 yards apart. Husking Bed Operator - Monitor and maintaining flow of ear corn through husking beds in Husk Sort Building and complete kernel cleans of husk sort line along with housekeeping and other duties as assigned. There are 4 lines in the husk sort building, but they are all in the same building and can meet in the middle of the building all together. Bin Fill (Dryer Roofs) - Monitor ear corn flow into dryer bin and switch bins when the correct depth is reached and housekeeping and other duties as assigned. We have 4 dryer complexes so, the crew would be split among the 4 dryers. Bin Unload Day - Unload dryer bin sending ear corn to sheller, kernel clean dryer bin, sorting dry ear corn, and housekeeping and other duties as assigned. The crew will be split into 3 teams, each one working from one of the dryer complexes sending corn to 1 of our 3 shelling lines. Bin Unload Night - Unload dryer bin sending ear corn to sheller, kernel clean dryer bin, sorting dry ear cor,n and housekeeping and other duties as assigned. The crew will be split into 3 teams, each one working from one of the dryer complexes sending corn to 1 of our 3 shelling lines. Cleaning Crew - Clean up the dump area and husk sort building and around the silage chopper, load husk and corn debris onto silage belts General Farm Labor - Workers on physical work restrictions or when work is not available may be required to perform miscellaneous clean-up work on field property, and on structures utilized in the field operation. Such clean-up activities include the sprouting, pruning, and painting of; debris, weeding, irrigation repair; structure cleaning/repair; and general field clean-up as required. Follow oral and written instructions to collect samples from trucks, sweep/shovel corn as it piles up by pit, sweep/blow off floors, sides and canopy frames of trailers. Workers will be paid the highest of the adverse effect wage rate, the prevailing wage rate, or the applicable minimum wage rate for time spent performing such clean-up work. Other Requirements: Workers seeking employment under this job order must be available for entire period requested by the employer. The employer retains the right to discharge any obviously unqualified worker, malingerer, or recalcitrant worker who is physically able to complete the work, but does not demonstrate a willingness to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason.
