Job Duties:

Performs various activities associated with growing sod on our farm. The workers will aid in soil preparation, removing rocks, roots, limbs, stumps, trees and other debris from the fields and farm area. They will sod large areas, sow grass seed, plant plugs of sod grass, cut, roll and stacks sod by hand. Weed, hoe, and propagate. Water, fertilize, spray, monitor, trim, weed, load, transport, and discard sod. Irrigation setup and operation. Operates mowers and sod cutters. Loads and unload trucks. When work in sod is not available workers may be offered other general agricultural duties associated with sod farming, including but limited to building and equipment maintenance, repairing fence and similar tasks. Work is to be done in the field for long periods of time. Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stopping and reaching. Job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather.
