- Workers will perform tasks for various employers as listed on their contract.
Crops: onions, turf grass sod, corn, sweet corn, soybeans, pumpkins, squash, sugar beets, great dry beans, black turtle beans, navy beans, wheat, hay, and garden variety crops.
Workers will plant, cultivate, and harvest employers crops. Workers will perform support duties such as preparing fields and for planting, and general field clean-up such as, weeding, rock pick up, and digging drainage ditches. Workers will perform general farm cleanup and maintenance such as power washing barns, painting, fence repair, and other duties on the farm. Workers will operate tractors and farm vehicles on the farm as an incidental activity. Workers will pick, pack and grade crops.
Job Duties Include: weeding and hoeing crops, picking up rocks, gardening, picking crops for harvest, tree and brush removal, lawn care, irrigation operation and servicing, Grain Bin maintenance and cleaning. cleaning and sweeping (storage area buildings, barns) demo, perform repair and maintenance on buildings/equipment and housing for the farm. Workers will also repair landscaping around the farm homes, spread mulch, fix drainage tile, concrete work, general painting, and buildings, power washing and polishing, perform carpentry work, metal fabricating, plumbing and electrical, equipment operating, harvesting crops, packing and grading crops, unloading and grading onions into the bulk storage, bailing hay and straw and stacking into the barn, cleaning livestock pens and feeding livestock. In the event of heavy rain workers may assist in digging ditches to let water off fields.
Farm Equipment Operation: Workers will be required to operate tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment during field operations as an incidental activity in the production of crops. Workers will use mechanical harvesting equipment. Before any worker is required to operate any farm equipment, the worker will be instructed in the proper and safe operation of tractor. Workers must notify supervisor of any mechanical issues. Workers will be required to operate tractors according to instructions and in a manner, that protects the operator, other workers, trees, crops and equipment. Repeated failure to obey operating and safety instructions may result in termination.
