Job Duties:

Temporary Seasonal Position: Onion Packer | SOC Code: 45-2092 All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described & must be available for entire period. Billy The Kid Produce, LLC, Deming, NM, Luna Possible shift: 8:00AM-5:00PM. 45+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Onions. Duties may include: Harvest and cultivate crops in field as necessary. Weeding and thinning property. Within packing facility: pull bin tags before bin is placed in production area, submit all classified bin tags to main office, operate bin filler and ensure each bin is full to then place proper bin tag with size classification before being pulled out for storage, inform bin fillers regarding malfunctions and clear jams, drive forklifts, perform maintenance and equipment checks daily, bring undamaged, empty pallets to palletizer, transport full pallets to wrappers and store those pallets in queue for shipping, bring empty bins and remove such from production lines once full. Ensure onion bag is properly sealed and positioned, clear jams to restore flow of palletizer. Assist with bagging onions to then place bag tags and stack. Keep all work zones clean and free of debris and trash, take out trash & other related Onion Packer activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). On-the-job training provided. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 40lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hrs may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hrs. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone.
