Job Duties:

Clean and disinfect equipment, vehicles and trucks that are going to and leaving the worksite. Clean and disinfect equipment and confinement using procedures detailed in biosecurity protocol. This is crucial to avoid cross-contamination after an outbreak of PRRS. Due to the infectious nature of the disease, this has to be done multiple times per day. Workers will perform caretaking responsibilities on a short-term basis until the PRRS disease is controlled in the network of farms. Workers will be required to feed and water livestock. Workers will be required to remove deceased livestock from the confinement, which is significantly more than usual as a result of PRRS outbreak and haul the deceased livestock to recycling. Workers will be required to disinfect vehicle and equipment every time it leaves/returns to the farm to ensure cross-contaminations is limited. CDL License Required, must be able to lift and carry at least 75 pounds 75 yards. Must be able to properly follow bio-security protocol. Worker must be able to follow detailed instructions and exercise great care as it relates to sanitation procedures. Worker must have a good driving record.
