- Job Duties:
- H-2A and corresponding domestic workers must be available to perform each of the following job activities in connection with the harvesting and farming operations:
Field Workers: Bell Pepper Harvesters, QC/Puncher, Forklift Drivers, CalVan Drivers, General Ranch Maintenance, General Farm Labor and Palletizing, Sanitization activities, and Health/Wellness Monitor to perform the following duties:
Workers manually harvest crop under the direction of the Foreman and Field Supervisor, with assistance from the Harvest Team Supervisor. Crew members report to the Foreman and Field Supervisor.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Workers will harvest peppers in a safe, efficient manner, ensuring productivity and quality goals are met or exceeded.
Appropriately mark their work or finished product with their worker ID, as directed.
Coordinates and collaborates with Forman in the morning to determine Harvesting concerns and crop quality.
Using clippers, cuts fruit from plant and gently place in 15 gal container.
Once container is full, carry fruit to collection point and gently empty bucket into assigned bin.
Gives punch card to QC for a credit punch
Harvest and unload harvested products as directed by field supervisor on bins.
Understand and adhere to all food safety practices and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) in daily work and will satisfy all related training requirements, as required by the Field Supervisor.
Care for plants as instructed and assigned by the Field Supervisor.
Safely and responsibly use any hand tools provided by Prime Time, such as scissors shears and return them in good condition at the end of each assignment.
Assist Field Supervisor and Foreman on all the requirements for quality standards in shape, color and maturity of the peppers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Harvesting Crew must be able and willing to tolerate extreme temperatures (especially heat) during the workday.
Comply with all requirements for protective clothing and safety demands.
Work in an outdoor environment, including tolerance for pests and thorns.
Repetitively lift and carry items up 25 lbs.
Demonstrate good visual acuity, with an ability to identify shape, size, maturity levels and crops ready for harvest.
Stand, sit, bend, kneel, stretch and squat for long periods of time.
Demonstrate sufficient dexterity of hands, arms and fingers to be able to perform the principal responsibilities of the Harvester job, including to harvest fruit; to install, position, and move materials; and to manipulate tools and equipment.
