Job Duties:
The work will perform job duties as assigned by supervisor. Apple, Peach and Tart Cherry harvesting-the work will position a ladder as close to the tree and climb to harvest the apples, peaches or cherries. The apples, peaches or cherries are harvested by grabbing the apple, peaches or cherries and gently rolling it upward towards the spur until the fruit comes off or by using clippers to clip fruit steam at instructed length. The fruit is in placed in a picking sac until it is filled to the rim. The worker will then carry the sock to the closest been to dump out the fruit. The worker then positions the full packing sack just above the fruit in the bin. Next the worker releases the closing apparatus to open the bottom of the fruit picking bag the worker will release bagged fruit gently on the fruit in the bin. Then slowly lift the fruit picking bag by carefully drawing it over the top of the bin. The picked apples, peaches or cherries are gently placed on top of the apples, peaches or cherries in the bin. Pruning of apple, peach, and cherry trees--the worker will use pruning clippers with an adjustable length to prune the apple, peach or cherry trees. The worker must cut all vertical, horizontal, suckers shoots, branches growing downward off the main branches cowered branches, and dead branches off apple, peach, and cherry trees. The worker must be able to work outside for at least six hours per day in all kinds of weather including but not limited to extreme cold and hot conditions direct sunlight and rain. Workers must have the required physical strength and endurance to repeat the process rapidly and skillfully involved in this type of work. Workers will perform prolonged walking bending stooping reaching pushing pulling lifting and caring up to 80 pounds. Due to the nature of this type of work there will be a probationary period of six days beginning on the first day of employment for the employee to acclimate to the Job Specifications listed under the Job Description and Requirements. The worker will be given specific instructions on how to properly perform the work specified in the Job Description and Requirements Section on the first day of work. Workers who do not perform the work as specified in the job description and requirements section maybe terminated. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer would charge the worker for a reasonable cost related to the workers refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such workers willful damage or destruction of the tools. Asparagus Harvest worker will hand harvest asparagus. Asparagus plants can grow to 3 to 10 inches per day and during growing season the fields need to be picked daily or as often that it is needed to meet quality and length requirements. Workers pick asparagus in their row; pickers use both hands to snap the asparagus just above the ground as to not leave tall stubble No more than 1/2 inch allowed. Pickers may be asked to cut asparagus in the field using a cutting tool or knife. There is no pulling a spear or route out from the ground causing white ends. Asparagus is placed in plastic legs and then an orientated manner-butt to the center of the lug and heads or tips to the end. Workers are packing any non-marketable products will be harvested and thrown on the ground so as not to become a continuous problem. Each leg holds approximately 25 pounds one full of asparagus. Workers may be required walk for long periods of time behind the picking cart and stoop to hand snap spears just above the ground that the workers on the picking cart missed. Worker will pick up according to grade color and size. Workers will carry the full lugs off the car and had the stack to each other on the pallet in the correct manner, so the lugs do not crash any of the Harvested Spears.
