- Workers may work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. 1st shift is from 6:00 AM to 6:45 PM. 2nd shift is from 6:45 PM to 4 AM. 3rd shift is from 8:00 PM to 10:00 AM. Workers will work Monday through Sunday. End shift time may vary dependent on the availability of fresh produce; schedule times may shift to accommodate crop schedules. Workers will supervise other employees working a vegetable warehouse workers, as well as also work as a vegetable warehouse worker. Workers must perform various duties associated with instructing other workers on how to compete job duties as needed and keeping track of other employee's hours. Workers must be able to be properly licensed to transport H2A and migrant workers. Workers will transport other employees to and from the worksite. Work must be bilingual in Spanish and English. Crops: Zucchini, Carrots, Squash, Green Beans, Peppers (various), Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Rutabaga. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period will be related to the vegetable warehouse operation for Arbre Farm's own product. The freezing operation at Arbre Farms receives, handles, prepares, freezes and packages for preservation and provision to the marketplace fresh produce primarily produced by Arbre Farms. Duties include: unload raw product, storing, moving, prepping and packaging as needed, inspect, handle, sort and remove produce and other objects, set-up, take-down, operate, adjust, monitor, identity quality issues, calibrate, and maintain equipment and product. Ensure all products are packaged, labeled, weighed, and sorted/stacked correctly. Maintain the worksite by emptying trash, sweeping and disinfecting floors, walls, surfaces, and drains & other related Vegetable Warehouse Laborer activities as per SOC/OES 53-7064 (onetonline.org). Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equipment, grounds, area. Indoor work, exposed to potentially hazardous machines and equipment, loud environments, freezing tunnels; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hours. All workers hired pursuant to this Labor Certification must be able to comprehend and follow instructions. Employer retains full discretion to make work assignments, taking into account unforeseen circumstances as weather or other unscheduled/unexpected interruptions in regular work. All workers must perform the work assigned by the foreman or crew boss. Without specific authorization by the foreman or crew boss, workers may not perform duties that are not provided for in this Job Order, or work in areas not assigned. Workers will be expected to perform any of the listed duties as assigned by his/her supervisor. Workers may not leave their job assignment area unless authorized. Leaving job area or farm without permission may be considered voluntarily resignation. Prior to beginning work on or after the date of need, workers will be required to attend an orientation on workplace rules, policies, and safety information. Allergies to items such as ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray, and related chemicals, may affect workers ability to perform this job. Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is to be done for long periods of time. All workers must obey all safety rules and basic instructions and be able to recognize, understand and comply with safety, pesticide warning/re-entry and other essential postings. Workers may be required to fill out shipping paperwork. Workers may work cleaning workspaces throughout the greenhouse and nursery, including but not limited to product contact surfaces, areas with exposed horticultural products, and food contact surfaces.
