Job Duties:
Crops: Pepper (hot and bell), Squash (summer and winter), Eggplant, Sugarcane, Radish, Herbs, Leafy Greens, Cabbage, Celery, Sweet Corn, Beans, Cucumber, Watermelon and Brussel Sprouts. Workers will perform various duties associated with growing the vegetable crops listed above. Workers will plant cultivate and harvest vegetables. Workers will lay, fix and pull plastic. Workers will hook up, unhook and fix water. Workers will stake and tie pepper and tomato plants. Workers will perform support duties such as making boxes, packing, cleaning buckets and work areas. Workers will assist with weed removal. Workers will remove the vegetable from the plant according to size and maturity that will be able to be packed and shipped. Then the produce will be placed in a six-gallon picking bucket. After bucket is full the workers will and carry the bucket to a flatbed truck or flatbed field trailer. A person on a truck or trailer will receive the full buckets. This person will either dump the produce in plastic bin or set the full bucket on the truck or trailer. This process will be repeated throughout the day until the scheduled field is picked. Plant Bed Preparation: Laying plastic mulch over prepared beds, which are been fumigated. This includes other jobs necessary to get the plant beds ready for planting, including placing drip tube under the plastic and connecting drip tube to lateral lay flat. Crop Maintenance and Cultivation: Weed removal from crop rows, tightening stakes loosened by wind and water runoff. Helping to drain areas of the field with shovels, cutting the ridged areas of the rows covered in black plastic to allow the pooled water to drain. Workers are expected to begin work early in the mornings. Workers should not have allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, pesticide sprays residues or related chemicals. Packing Operation Grading Working carefully remove any leaves and defective fruit as defined by grading supervisor as peaches move across grading tables. Produce must be handled carefully to avoid bruises or fingernail cuts. Workers will pack and shell peas and corn. Fillers Workers box the graded fruit in appropriate containers by attending automatic filler or by hand as necessary according to packaging instructions disclosed by the supervisor. Special Packaging Workers may be required to custom fill trays and marketing gift packs according to supervisors instructions. Levelers Boxed fruit is carefully hand-leveled by worker to assure an even level of fruit in each container. Excess fruit is removed from overfilled boxes and placed carefully in separate containers as directed by supervisor. Top/Box Makers Bottom and lid machines are fed flat corrugated product by worker to produce a glued bottom and lid. Workers feed finished bottoms into a chute for fillers and apply lids to filled boxes after boxes are leveled. Stackers Workers pick up filled boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. from conveyor and stack carefully by prescribed pattern and height onto pallets by size and lot stamped on box as directed by loading supervisor. General Maintenance: Workers will be responsible for performing general maintenance around the farm. This will include fence mending, mowing, and weeding eating. Workers will repair and paint buildings to ensure they are in good repair. Support jobs include bin and pallet repair and after-hours cleanup. Farm, and Field Sanitation: All workers will be responsible for picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and other farm sanitation duties. During certain duties, workers may be required to work in teams to accomplish a certain task. When engage in teamwork activities workers must coordinate with other members of the team to accomplish the task.

Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
