Job Duties:

Perform duties on a farm like: 24/7 Surveillance of Dry and Maternity Herd (Heavy pregnant cattle due to calve; Isolation of cows as they go into labor; Cleaning and maintaining the calving pens and related facility; Provide assistance as required by each cows individual situation and circumstances; Deliver calves, diagnose calving-related issues, reporting and/or treating the same; Movement of calved cattle to hospital herd for processing, intensive observation and care; Feeding of colostrum to baby calves; Identification of baby calves; Movement of baby calves to calf rearing area; Daily care and feeding of milk and/or milk replacer to baby calves; observing fresh cattle daily in hospital and tending to any post-natal issues until released. Equipment: Farm Tractors, Wheel Loaders, Planters, Forage Harvesting Equipment Livestock: Dairy Cattle

Special Requirements:

Extensive pushing, pulling and walking. Frequent stooping. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Minimum three (3)) months experience. Must be able to lift a 75 pound calf. Basic literacy and arithmetic requirement. Must be able to speak English. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
