Job Duties:
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to cattle on farm: Feed and care for cows, calves and bulls; operate a mixer wagon, Chop hay for use in feed; open frozen water fountains several times a day; bed and run skid steer or tractor with bale shredder and feed wagon. Load hay and grain into feed wagon, hydraulic chute, skid steer, brand and weigh on a digital scale, hoof trimming chute & stock trailer; clean and maintain stalls; prepare & pen cattle for sales; detect disease, sickness & problems with calves/mothers; recognize & treat various sicknesses; assist in vaccinating, medicating, AI, birthing calves, prolapses, abscesses, scouring calves & posting deceased animals; maintain breeding, birth & weaning records. Calve out cows, keeping pairs together; milk out fresh cows and bottle feed; be knowledgeable and alert to development of calves; stock pile/haul out manure, snow & ice removal; build and maintain protective snow barriers/windbreaks; maintain and repair cattle-related equipment/buildings. Manage gates and fences. Haul cattle to pasture using a stock trailer. Livestock: Beef Cattle; Artificial Inseminations; Ultra sounding

Special Requirements:
Must be able to pass random post-hire drug screening at employer expense. Failure to pass the drug screening will result in termination of employment. This is due to the fact that a clear and concise mind is a must when dealing with the cattle and driving. Liability is a huge factor. Must not have a queasy stomach! Must be able to get driver's license within 30- 90 days. Extensive pushing, pulling and walking required. Repetitive movements and frequent stooping required. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum three months experience. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
