- Job Duties:
- Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Feed livestock daily. This includes ground hay, grain mix and bales to all pens where livestock is kept. Check water supply to all livestock. Keep water supply un-thawed and clear of ice. Maintain feeding equipment. Daily maintenance of tractor, grinder and hay wagons. Removing twine and net wrap from the grinder daily. Monitor livestock each day and treat animals as required. Clear snow from hay stacks, pens, windbreaks and gates as needed during the winter. Bed down pens and shelters with straw during cold weather and especially during the calving season. Monitor cows every two to three hours during calving season. Move calves inside as needed during cold weather and treat sick calves as needed. Work cows in December, treat for lice and pregnancy check cows. Sort off open cows from pregnant cows. Daily removal of manure and snow from all pens and calf shelters. Maintain ID tags in cows and calves when torn out. Tagging of all calves to match mothers ID tags when born. Drive to town to pick up supplies for cattle. Livestock: Beef Cattle

- Exposure to extreme temperatures. Must be able to lift a 75 pound calf. Minimum of (1) one month experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
