Job Duties:

We have cattle in pastures during the year and when the winter starts and the pastures are no longer growing, we bring the cattle to our farmstead location where they are confined in pens for the winter. During this time, we need to feed cattle twice a day, every day. Any ill cattle will need to be hauled to the vet. We also haul hay from a storage site back to a farmstead. We use this time to also fix any frozen or broken water pumps throughout the winter. With the brutal winters we have in North Dakota we need to constantly monitor the water systems to make sure the livestock always have adequate water. Employee will also be servicing and maintaining the tractor used for feeding the cattle. By approximately April 1st the cows will go back to pasture and will feed on the pasture grasses. No manual feeding or care will be needed while they are in pastures. For that reason, we need a seasonal employee to assist with the cattle during the confined period from December until April only.

Special Requirements:

Employee must be able to lift and carry two 5-gallon feed pails weighing approximately 30lbs a piece. Must have a CDL license or equivalent or be able to obtain within 30 days since it will be required to haul hay with the semi. Employee must have 3 months experience with livestock and the livestock equipment.
