Job Duties:
Monitor all aspects of the feedlot operation including daily inspection of all waters and maintenance needed on the facility itself. Mix feed and additives, fill troughs with feed and water. Remove ice formed in water. Clean bunks daily of debris and snow. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or by using syringes/hypodermic needles. Apply medication to cuts and bruises, spray livestock with insecticides. Clip identifying notches or symbol or animal or brand, using branding iron, to indicate ownership. Sort livestock for size. Move livestock to to different pens and load for market. Routine maintenance of feedlot equipment including box scraper, tractor, mixer wagon and bale processor. Remove manure from feedlot with tractor and box scrapper. Pickup ethanol feed, mix feed, grind hay, and cornstalk bales to feed the cattle. Help with shipping and receiving of cattle. Clean livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Workers will clean pens which includes the hauling and spreading of manure on the farm. Operation/Maintenance of livestock related machinery. Must be willing and able to work additional hours at crucial times of the season. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies.

Special Requirements:
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Must be able to obtain driver's license within 30-90 days of employment. Minimum three (3) months experience. Basic literacy and arithmetic requirement. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
