The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Performs duties like: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as disk, leveler, dike plow, and grain harvesting equipment. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, service (Check fluids), and incidental repair to farm machinery. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. Mowing, weeding and shoveling on the farm. A drug screening will be required post hire at the employer's expense due to liability of heavy equipment and trucks on public highways. A criminal background check will be required post hire at employer's expense due to small children who are at the farm. Failure to pass drug and back ground check will result in immediate termination. Extensive pushing and pulling. Extensive walking and sitting. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent stooping. Repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. Minimum of (3) months experience required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. No minimum education required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
